AFRENCO was launched in 2011 to spark the spirit of youth co-operative entrepreneurship in Africa and to empower underserved youth who want to start, develop and run own businesses. The organisation seeks to establish strong relations with government departments and the private sector corporations that are concerned with entrepreneurial development of young people – making their expertise and resources available to youth-owned-and-managed co-operatives. Through ESD initiatives and media campaigns, AFRENCO intends to bring together all actors of public-private partnerships; as well as international embassies, philanthropic foundations, civil society and the academic sector. Impact Reports is released annually by AFRENCO outlining any activities or progress on collaborative efforts of the organisation and its Network Partners.
AFRENCO aims to integrate young people into the mainstream economy in Africa. Through our ESD initiatives, we address the economic challenges faced by underserved youth and provide them with critical entrepreneurial support needed to build and grow their own industrial co-operatives. We service the rural and peri-urban communities where this need is often greatest. Our transformative model is about promoting youth co-operative entrepreneurship across Africa – building a robust, inclusive ecosystem and sustain youth job-creation opportunities. We want to create strong ties between governments and the private sector corporations working towards similar goals of empowering future industrialists and emerging visionaries of global entrepreneurship.
AFRENCO has a special position on the continent as it is the main voice of the next generation of industrialists of the African economy. Our ESD initiatives below are an exciting way to link us with your company’s business objectives:
